One column. Two-column layouts look tidy on screen, but many screening tools read a page line by line, left to right, and blend the sidebar into the main text. Here the order in the file is the order you see.
Text, not pictures. No phone icons, skill bars or photo. A parser extracts nothing from an image, and a bar showing “80% Excel” tells a recruiter nothing they can verify.
Standard fonts. Helvetica and Times are part of the PDF format itself. The file stays small and opens the same on any computer or phone.
Color as accent only. Color is used for headings and rules. Printed in black and white the resume stays readable, because no information depends on it.
