Short resumes with little text: the centered header makes an almost empty page look emptier. Minimal handles that better.

How the Executive template is built

Executive sets everything in Times, the typeface of contracts and journals. Name, title and contact line are centered, followed by a thin black rule. Section headings are centered too, each closed by a rule in the accent color.

Body text is half a point larger than in the other templates (10.5 points) because serif letters are narrower. Company and city are set in italic under each job title.

It is the template to use when the reader is likely to print the page, and when a licence, a degree or a board seat matters more than a list of tools. Move “Courses & certifications” above “Experience” in the section order if that is your case.

Frequently asked questions

Is a serif resume old-fashioned?

Not in fields where formal documents are serif by default. It signals convention, which is the point in law, finance or medicine. For a startup, Modern is the safer choice.

Does the centered header cause parsing problems?

No. Centering changes where a line starts, not the order of the text. The file still reads name, title, contact, then each section from top to bottom.
